If you’re looking for a tax-wise strategy to Do More for the causes you care about, Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) may be the perfect option for you.
Our team is focused on charitable giving, and thanks to our partnership with the Faithful Journey Foundation (FJF), we are able to help you get more and do more, confident that your generosity and legacy will not compromise your values. FJF is intentionally redefining generosity by emphasizing its transformational nature. Through FJF, your giving can be more intentional, gaining both maximum tax benefits and long-term influence. You can support the causes that you care about and ensure that your giving aligns with your Kingdom values.
DAFs are popular vehicles for tax-wise giving. A DAF is a charitable giving fund operated by a public foundation or “sponsoring organization.” The account is comprised of your donations or assets, and the contribution of those assets gets you better tax deductions than creating a private foundation. Those donations have the potential to grow, tax-free, and then be gifted to qualified charities that you are passionate about.
Opening a DAF is one way to enhance the philanthropic part of your legacy. As an example, because of the SECURE Act, the “stretch” IRA is no longer available for heirs. Naming a DAF as a beneficiary of your IRA can be the perfect alternative. Doing so removes potential disbursement taxes on your IRA assets and also creates a donation pool that can grow and bless charities, tax-free, for years to come.
If you desire to Do More for the nonprofits you care about, but your goals feel out of reach, a DAF could be a great non-cash solution. You can contribute a range of assets other than cash, such as:
There are many options for you depending on how you desire to give and what you wish to contribute to your DAF.
FJF shares your commitment to Kingdom-focused values and ministry, while providing simple administration and helping you capture maximum tax benefits on your charitable gifts.
We believe that generosity should be transformational – not just transactional. We’re happy to answer your questions about DAFs and to advise you on your journey of transformational generosity. To learn more about FJF and DAFs, talk to your advisor or visit www.faithfuljourneyfoundation.org.
