Larry Wenger GENEROUS HEARTS
affinity for the FFA (Future Farmers of America) and 4H. Tis passion for bringing up leaders through agriculture stems largely from Rose’s parents, Carl & Margaret Wenger, the founders of Wengers of Myerstown, who started off as dairy farmers.
Some of the most recent organizations that Te Wenger Foundation has been working with are COBYS Family Services, Evangelical Seminary, Friendship Community, and On Fire Youth Ministry. Te Wenger Foundation has been working with these organizations for a number of years. “We believe these ministries are doing excellent work and we are happy to support them,” said Rose.
One of the other ministries that Te Wenger Foundation contributes to is the Brethren Disaster Relief heifer sale. Tat auction is supported every year through funds from the Megan Walmer Fund, named in honor of Rose’s own daughter who passed away a few years ago and who nurtured a passion for the heifer sale.
As of December 31, 2019, Te Wenger Foundation has given $3.4 million back to the community through their areas of focus. Te foundation is committed to furthering its reach and impact in the community. “We try to find different ways to collaborate and encourage others to walk beside us,” Rose said. “If someone’s areas of interest and focus match ours, we are certainly all about new ideas and events and accomplishing goals together.”
For 25 years, Te Wenger Foundation has supported various family and faith-oriented services throughout the community, and they have developed several key processes and procedures to avoid roadblocks that often hamper the growth of small ministries.
“For someone who shares our heart, but doesn’t want to go through all of the processes, that is an easy conversation to have,” Rose said, of partnering with other individuals or organizations in the community. “Let’s work together.”
