hen faced with unspeakable tragedy, the Wenger family decided to work
together to bring about good in their community.
“In 1996, Te Wenger Foundation was established as a charitable giving organization within the Wenger Family of Companies. Te family’s desire was to serve beyond ourselves,” said Rose Walmer, foundation president and executive director, as well as chief personnel officer for Wengers of Myerstown. “I had a niece who was a victim of homicide in 1994. At that time, a lot of folks came around us and wanted to know how to support us. Trough that came the creation of the Wenger Foundation.”
Te foundation is part of Te Wenger Family and Companies, which also includes Ag Industrial, Inc., Wenger Farms, Champion Leasing, and Wengers of Myerstown, the branch

that has been selling farm equipment, construction equipment, and related parts since 1947.
Te Wenger Foundation’s focus is youth, faith, family, farming, community, and church. Te Foundation seeks to support religious, educational, and community services programs through corporate
contributions from local businesses, as well as individual contributions and fund solicitations generated by a number of special events. One of these best-known and signature events is the annual Praise Dinner, which usually hosts between 750 and 850 guests. All the ticket money is funneled back into supporting faith-based ministries. Te Praise Dinner has been held every year since 1996, with the exception of this year, due to coronavirus health restrictions.
